When you hear through the grapevine that your ex wants you back, it can throw you into a tailspin of mixed emotions and there is hope for this situation.  All you need to do is to remain honest with yourself and the person you’re trying to work things out with.  It sounds a lot easier than it is because so often our egos are bloated when we hear that they want us back that it could easily turn into a game of cat and mouse.  The thoughts are there, “Oh, now they want me back…I’ll show them how it hurt…”  Any and all of these thoughts are normal but it is not a good thing to act on them because when we act from a place of dishonesty, we always end up as the loser.

Be honest with yourself.  What does it mean to you to have your ex want you back?  Are you filled with joy and expectation or of dread and fear?  If the time you spent together at one time was positive and you’d like to have that back again, then go for it.  Don’t let your ego talk you out of happiness and in order to do that, all you need to be is honest.

Be honest with yourself and be honest with your ex.  Don’t be afraid to point out what was good about your past relationship as well as what may need to change.  Maybe you’ve always carried a torch for that person and knowing that they want you back is just what you’ve been waiting to hear, do what needs to be done and do what others like you have done.
